Potential Breaks

By means of potential breaks an electrical separation of high pressure cooling channels for liquid Helium is established. This function is required especially for superconducting magnets used in nuclear fusion research.

Our potential breaks are manufactured according to the proven Lenz-Technology and under very strict QA measurements. They show a very good HV-capability and especially an outstanding pressure tightness for He even after numerous thermal cycles.

The research projects Wendelstein 7-X and the ITER-TF model coil are equipped with potential breaks mark BNG. Also in novel accelerator magnets such as the first SIS100 dipole prototypes for the FAIR project our potential breaks are used.
