Superconducting Non-planar Modular Field Coils for the Stellarator Fusion Experiment WENDELSTEIN 7-X
![]() | Within the consortium "Wendelstein", Babcock Noell is manufacturing, together with an Italian partner, the super-conducting non-planar modular field coils for the German fusion experiment Wendelstein 7-X. Due to the special form of the coils, a continuous plasma confinement is possible. For the manufacture of the coils and their components, at times completely new procedures have to be found, to reach the specified values. |
