For a pipe cutting task in the ILL reactor in Grenoble two manually operated internal pipe cutting devices for various diameters were developed. (Oval pipe cutter and internal pipe milling device).

The cutting device was inserted from above into the pipes to be cut and clamped in the pipe.

Afterwards the milling head was set and the pipe was cut by turning of the milling head around the center of the tubing axis. Interresting is the wide area of diameters of of the pipes to be cut: from Ø 74 x 8 mm to Ø 530 x 30 mm.
