For the dismantling of reactor pressure pipes in Niederaichbach nuclear power plant, Babcock Noell developed an internal pipe cutting device (angle grinding type) with which the pipes are cut and dismantled by remote control.

The device was inserted from above into the pipes and clamped against the wall. After the cut the cut pipe was lifted together with the cutting device out of the reactor.
