Deposition Machines for the Final Storage of Spent Fuel Elements

The machine was developed and manufactured by Babcock Noell for the demonstration final waste disposal site of SKB / Sweden.

The final storage vessels made of copper are transported in a shielded vessel and after a swivelling process sunk in drill holes in the floor of the tunnel.

A cost-saving of several million Euro was achieved by the compact construction of the machine, which lead to a minimizing of the tunnel diameter.
