Decontamination Units

With the re-equipment of turbine condensers in boiling water reactors large quantities of outside weak contaminated brass tubes come up.

For the decontamination of these tubes Babcock Noell developed, built an operated a mechanical decontamination plant for the nuclear release of the tubes after measurement for conventional utilisation. The pipes are decontaminated by brushing and grinding in order to be finally under the release limits.

Almost no secondary waste come up with this procedure. The treaded pipes can be used for conventional purposes.
