Studies for the Industrial Production of the Superconducting Cavities for TESLA

For the implementation of the linear accelerator TESLA, 20,000 superconducting cavities will be needed. Complex procedures, high-quality requirements in relation to purity of material and welding with vacuum technology are necessary to produce these components. Babcock Noell received the order to evaluate the various fabrication steps and performed the planning of the production facility.
