15 m Prototype Cryostats for the LHC Dipole Magnets

Babcock Noell manufactured 2 prototype vacuum chambers with radiation shielding and super insulation. The contract also included the tool assembly and the installation of a dipole prototype, also manufactured by Babcock Noell, into a cryostat.

Special feature:

The vacuum chambers are manufactured from spiral-welded pipes.
